Alterations Complete

Our gorgeous re-fit is finished.

Andy Clapshaw, Jeremy Knowles and their guys from Nex Gen Construction have done an incredible job in not only working around our staff and customers (& the clock) but in creating a wonderful new kitchen and front of house layout, while still retaining the original look and feel of our cafe. We've recycled a lot of the original interior. Thanks to Jeremy Thomas, the old kitchen workbench has been gorgeously restored and now features as our communal table in the front window. The counter was also beautifully put together by Brendan Ryan from bits and pieces collected around the building. Thanks guys.

And check out our flash new toilets. No queues here anymore. Plus all the extra carparking at the back of the buidling.

We are thrilled to say 'welcome' to our new and improved UTRV. We hope you enjoy it as much as we are.

The Smithy

At long last our Smithy out the back of UTRV has been restored to its former glory. Mel Barker has lovingly repaired the floor, replacing the roof and generally made the gorgeous old building usable again. And thank goodness we did the repairs before the earthquake as I'm not sure the old girl would still be standing if we hadn't.

It is currently leased at the moment but if you have any other clever ideas as to what we could do with it, we'd love you to come in and have a chat with us.
